Professional Experience
I work with adults and young people and am experienced in issues such as trauma, depression and anxiety, and PTSD, relationship issues, domestic violence and more. I have a particular interest in birth trauma as well as neurological differences.
I have worked for 15 years in schools, education and social care settings, including family mediation, child protection and disability inclusion. After many years in this work, building supportive relationships was the common thread I was most drawn, which ultimately led me into training as a counsellor.
My work also includes working with young people and with neurological differences, both in my private practice and in a secondary school where I work on a regular basis. This has built my understanding and experience in working with identity, gender, self harm, anxiety and depression.
Continuing Training
I am undertaking further training in Core Process Psychotherapy at The Karuna Institute which will deepen my knowledge and practice.
Membership
As a member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) I follow their ethical framework

About me
I have faced numerous difficult times in life that have shaped me, and now help me to be resilient and compassionate with my clients. This is one of the reasons I feel driven to work in this field. I now carry these lived experiences into the work I do, enabling me to work at depth with my clients’ difficulties.
Having struggled with my own mental health, I felt I couldn’t speak up about my experience and felt really isolated. So, I share this here in the hope of raising awareness and enable others to speak out and ask for help.
Living abroad in several different countries and being immersed in very different cultures has opened my mind and given me the experience of welcoming in difference and diversity.
I feel that, because of my eclectic and broad experience in life, I am open-minded, curious, warm-hearted and accepting. I welcome anybody who walks through my door.
