I am a qualified integrative counsellor and a trainee psychotherapist with the Karuna Institute.

I am experienced in working with mental health conditions, trauma, depression and anxiety and PTSD. I work in private practice two days a week in the South Hams area.

I will meet you with an open mind, heart and a bit of humour which can help when faced with difficult circumstances. I have felt the life-changing benefits of therapy, which I recognise and encourage in the people I work with.

Good counselling and psychotherapy can truly change your life, no matter what you’ve been through. It can provide a saviour, even in the darkest of times, achieved through a trusted foundational relationship between counsellor and client.

Counselling & Psychotherapy

Core Process Psychotherapy

Core Process Psychotherapy is a combination of western psychodynamic psychology and eastern Buddhism. It uses a mindful approach to help us become aware of what might be happening for us, in our mind and body. It can help us understand our experiences now and in the past and how they may have formed patterns within us. This type of psychotherapy can be deeply moving and when held is trusting therapeutic relationship can enable lasting change.

Integrative counselling

Integrative counselling involves an adaptive approach, whereby I pull on a number of therapeutic practices, fully responding to the individual to explore together what challenges they may be facing. There is flexibility in this model of counselling as it moves with the needs of the individual, as they change and develop throughout the counselling process.

One to one sessions

I offer one to one sessions of integrative counselling. I offer a free 45 initial session. If we decide to work together and the fit is right for you, we will have 6 initial session with a review and then can work together for as long as you need.

My approach

I focus on building a trusting relationship together. The most important part of a therapeutic relationship is finding a therapist you can feel comfortable with and trust. I tailor my approach to fit the person that sits with me. This is a joint discovery, working together to explore the challenges the individual may be facing.

Fees

Adults: £50 and Young People: £60

Some people ask me why the fees for  young people are slightly higher; this is because there is a higher duty of care and risk and safeguarding with young people.
